Every trip I take, I always look at my packing list. No matter if it's a 3 month trip or a 10 day trip, I refer to this list as guidance when i am traveling internationally. I hate to forget something!
Travel Personal Checklist
First of all, we need a backpack and packing cube to pack! This is what I use and it is not for everyone. Check it out.

Travelers checks (if you're old school)
iTinerary (I hate plans)
Arrival address (they always make you fill out an arrive card and ask for address)
Sweaters / Coat / Jacket (waterproof or gore-Tex)
Feminine Hygiene Items
Hairdryer / Curling Iron
1 pair of light / quick dry convertible trousers (able to convert to shorts)
3 or 4 under armor quick-dry shirts
Boxers / underwear
Marmot Minimalist jacket
1 Under Armor turtle neck (smart wool is okay too)
1 Under Armor compression leggings
1 dress shirt with collar
Hat / bandanna
Small towel for wiping
Raincoat / umbrella
Pen / small notebook
Super small First Aid box
Medication / Vitamins
Plastic Bag (for dirty clothes)
Computer (netbook, preferably under 1kg)
Toiletries travel bag (everything under 100ml)
1 Travel Book / magazine (books are heavy)
Granola bars (to avoid buying food when flying budget airlines)
Sunblock (can buy at the destination)
Electric converter / adapter
Travel towel XL (thin and lightweight)
1 Liter reusable BPA free water bottle (this will save you a lot of money)
**If you're going camping or trying on save $$ on accommodation, bring sleeping bag, tent, and a small/thin (2.5in is enough) air mattress. Your friends may not have extra blankets for you.
**try to keep packing around 10kg.
**Bring laundry powder if going multi-day mountain trekking and/or camping.
