Upon the opening in September of 1875, the Cincinnati Zoo was the 2nd major zoological garden in the United States. Currently the zoo exhibits over 700 different animal species and over 3,000 types of plants. Not enough time to see everything during your Zoo trip? No money for buses? Now you and your students can connect to the Zoo via two-way videoconferencing for live, interactive Zoo programs. This medium combines the close-up views of television with the personal attention and interaction of having a guest speaker in your class. Programs are designed to engage students in active learning and complement classroom study of a variety of biological and earth science topics. All programs are delivered live by Zoo educators.
