Description:Distance Learning is coming to your school! If you have videoconference capabilities, your class can participate in virtual field trips to the Buffalo Museum of Science without even leaving your building. Students will be guided through 45 minutes of hands-on experiences and lessons taught by Museum staff and facilitators. Informational Activity Packets that incorporate important learning objectives of the New York State Standards are included to prepare students and to enhance the experience. You will also receive an Activity Box containing reproduction pieces, models, or other equipment relating to the topic, (Note: Activity Boxes must be postmarked and returned 1 week after the scheduled program. The school is responsible for return postage.). Distance Learning courses are offered Monday through Friday and require 3 weeks advanced notice for scheduling, and schools are required to pay all line fees for ISDN or fiber optic connections.

3.  View   Mini-Beasts: Incredible Insects – Amazing Adaptations - Insects may seem weird or even gross; they have strange antennas, big eyes, they almost look like aliens! But they are really amazing life forms with some incredible qualities. Learn all about these strange creatures and their vital role in our ecosystem.
4.  View   Rock Riddles and Mineral Mysteries - You can find minerals everywhere; they’re in vitamins, jewelry, they’re even in your saltshaker and breakfast cereal! But did you know that you could also find minerals in the ground right under your feet? In this program students can examine minerals and rocks of everyday life, and the dynamic Earth processes that formed them.
